We are very lucky to be able to dine alfresco, chef quality meals and local produce only metres away from Rainbow Getaway.
We ducked over to the Frying Fish Cafe (straight across the road) and chef Simon treated our group to perfect seafood platters, magnificent grilled fish, prawns and a vietnamese salad and delectable lamb cutlets with greek salad. Even Sid will be back again – we were very impressed!
Set in the IGA complex, the seating is all outdoors with protection from the cool evening breezes – it is a pleasant spot to while away some time. The Frying Fish Cafe pride themselves on sourcing local produce. Service is friendly and you can always grab takeaway fish and chips , walk across the road and you are home in your apartment!
An easy walk to the main street, you’ll find Arcobaleno. Bordering Rainbow’s piazza, it has a Mediterranean menu to match: pizza, pasta and daily specials.
With or without kids it is a great place for lunch or dinner. We love their tapas plates to share and the kids won’t go past their dessert pizza (not just for kids!) BYO, with music on a Sunday – the atmosphere is relaxed and a place you’ll want to return.
Kelli and her team will look after you. Besides delicious food (with pizza tasting the way it was intended), children and babies are genuinely welcome – they will love Arco’s treasure chest of toys and colouring in. The fairy garden is a real hit – as is the water fountain.
Arco has become one of the local’s favourite spots for functions. The team know how to create a fun event with a popular menu, BYO drinks plus you don’t need to wory about decorations- Arco is festive everyday.
Of course, there are plenty of other eateries and Rainbow Beach restaurants – and all in walking distance. Alternatively, with the supermarket and bottle-o over the road, BBQ’s scattered in the landscaped gardens you can simply relax and dine in your fully self contained accommodation.
