Brumbies hit Rainbow Beach

We took the kids to a early morning run on the beach starting at Inskip Point last week. We knew the brumbies were in town – there was plenty of evidence. More likely, you see the wild horses past the Cooloola Cove turn off and before you turn left towards Gympie. Foals are the best ones to spot, and they keep in a crowd so it pays to SLOW DOWN if you see one near the road.

The kids were chuffed to see them out on the Inskip access road corner. Two were grazing. Driving back to town by myself, I realised there were four more at the helicopter landing green (on the road towards the beach)that we had driven straight past. Beautiful.

Judging by the road deposits I saw today – it looks like they visited us on Double Island Drive last night!
