What’s on in the school holidays and July? All here for Rainbow and Gmypie plus some day trips to enjoy or stopovers….
If you are travelling from Brisbane or anywhere south or west of the Sunshine Coast with kids we find it is convenient to stop in at one of the megapetrol stations to refuel to car and us. We have discovered a better option for the whole family and you don’t have to pack your picnic. Instead – visit one of the many strawberry farms.
Carlo Sandblow AGAIN This time with the right boogie board to slide, and they did! This was the most requested and loved thing the kids wanted. Even better when you throw in a sunset! The sandblow is what will bring them back next time (and the beach, coloured sands, mudlo rocks etc…)

We haven’t seen these guys lately – these photos was taken over a week ago now. Just beside the tennis courts opposite the Getaway. Everytime we see them it reminds us that Rainbow Beach really is a back to nature experience.
Monday June 13 – Queen’s Birthday weekend was too glorious to stay at home. A simple morning was spent driving onto the beach – under the Surf Club and walking up to the Coloured Sands.
Two paintings of this very image were displayed at Rainbow’s recent Art Festival. I don’t think my camera caught the same colour and vibrance they did on canvas. But I still love the image of the buoys on the beach.
