Kids and first timers welcome at Rainbow Beach Triathlon

It is all family friendly on the weekend of 3 and 4 September 2011, the first  Goldcross Cycles Rainbow Beach Triathlon. Both adults and kids can compete.

Active Kids Triathlon (1.30pm start) Waves are organised by age groups and gender. The race is multi-loop for older children. The bike and run both take place on closed roads. Course marshalls will be positioned around the course to assist and encourage children throughout the event.

All participants in the Active Kids Triathlon receive a specially minted finishers medal AND an Active Kids Triathlon cap. This is a participation only event. No ‘placings’ are given. This event is not professionally timed, however participants are welcome to time their own race using their watch.

Rainbow Beach Road

Race distances:

6-9 years – 100m swim, 3km bike, 500m run.

10-11 years – 200m swim, 5km bike, 1km run.

12-13 years – 200m swim, 6km bike, 2km run.

Run along Wide Bay Esplanade, towards the "little" sand blow overlooking the town,


Active First Timers
  Designed for high school students or adults wanting to have a go at their first triathlon. The course is the same as that for the 12-13 years: 200m swim, 6km bike, 2km run.

The race is multi-loop. The bike and run both take place on closed roads. Course marshalls will be positioned around the course to assist and encourage children throughout the event. All participants in the Active Kids First Timers event receive a specially minted finishers medal.
