With as many visitors as competitors, the town was lively for the first weekend of Spring.
Earlier at 1.30 children and first timers events were held. Local kids and competitor’s parents cheered them on and supported them right to the finish line.
Then at 3.00, women led the way….
And they plunged into our Northern waters with the Coloured Sand cliffs as a backdrop.
Fully supported by the RB Surf Lifesavers
Soon followed by the men..
Transition was busy too…with locals assisting from the many community groups in Rainbow..
Plus many interested spectators.
Locals and visitors alike had a great weekend. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the town. Certainly the eateries were busy and it meant local kids (and some adults too!) sized up the event eager to participate next year. Congratulations to local, Coby Tuton who achieved 3rd place in his age group.
Thanks to all the organisers, triathletes, sponsors and volunteers – we’ll look forward to the next time.
