Black Cockatoo Cafe and Bar, Tin Can Bay

A pleasant drive to Tin Can Bay and you’ll find Judy’s favourite restaurant in Cooloola.

The Black Cockatoo Cafe + Bar is a modern eatery, with impeccable table service and beautifully presented fare. Judy and daughter Rebecca always return very content with their choices.

Owners, Mark and Lorraine Taylor, are in their seventh year of operation – and they make the most of their pristine environment. “We source the best local seafood available straight from the trawler,”Lorraine says.  Some of Judy and Rebecca’s favourites include the cuttlefish and salad, any of their Tin Can Bay seafood options and yummy thai fish cakes.

Rebecca says their desserts are also worth the visit – the chocolate in a mug, gingernut caramel tartlets and cheescake offerings are divine. Ask us about their opening hours when you next visit.

Once when Judy was looking for a light meal, they created her some delicious pasta and salad from something that wasn’t even on the menu.

The menu depends on the season and dips/dressings are all made on the premises, together with freshest and quality local produce. Their herbs come from their own courtyard garden, and they have an extensive wine list and experienced baristas.

The restaurant has been completely refurbished and is located on the main road with sea views.

Visit them when you next stay with us in Rainbow Beach. Dinner is Tue- Sat ’til late, Lunch Fri-Sun from 11ish and Sunday Breakfasts from 7.30 – so you can see the dolphins and enjoy a delicious and relaxed Sunday morning.
