Tin Can Bay Fishing Report 31/10/2012

Looking at the forecast for the weekend, Sunday will be the pick of the days for fishing in the open waters of Tin Can Bay and the Great Sandy Straits with light winds less than 5 knots.  Still getting reports of Mackerel being caught around Inskip Point & Fraser Island.  If your after some Summer Whiting try the sand flats around Ida Island or Bullock Point.  I prefer to always keep a live bait swimming out the back as you never know your luck and may pick up a nice lizard or two.  If you’re after some sheltered waters out of the wind maybe try Kauri Creek by taking the inland road North towards Maryborough and taking the Tinnanbar turn off follow the signs to the boat ramp at Kauri Creek.  Plenty of good structure to fish for Jacks, Threadfin Salmon, Trevally & even a chance of the odd Barra.  Don’t forget to drop the pots in for a few muddies!  Have a great weekend!

Thanks again Jim (from Tin Can Bay Boat Hire)! Image
