Hire  canoes or kayaks and explore the pristine waterways of the Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park. We have a wildlife sanctuary on our doorstep.

Ernie says, “I normally send visitors up Carlo Creek, depending on conditions. There is a sting ray colony not far from here, and turtles, dolphins and even dugong to spot.”

“The mangrove shoreline is very pretty and extremely popular with birdwatchers with our large numbers of migratory birds.”

Besides mangroves, there is also wallum scrub, sea grass, sandbanks and mud islands, all feeding grounds for the shorebirds.

They stock two single kayaks plus two canoes which hold two adults and one child each. Check it out next time you are here.
